Half a year later, “Lavender” is added to the IDF’s AI toolkit; it tracks the digital footprints of all the people of Gaza and assigns them a probability of being “Hamas” members; if the system gives you a high enough score, you will die. And often your entire family would die with you since your family home would be listed as the primary target; Lavender allowed for 15-20 people as collateral damage.
Blue Wolf is face recognition software that began with IDF soldiers based in the divided city of Hebron in 2020. After October 7, 2023, the input from Blue Wolf fed a set of algorithms in a centralized surveillance software named Red Wolf that would automate checkpoints to give or deny access to Palestinians and even have Palestinians arrested.
