The probes focus on allegations of payments from Qatar to Netanyahu’s associates between May 2022 and October 2024, with suspicions of contact with a foreign agent, fraud, money laundering, and bribery.

The affair also includes investigations of Yonatan Urich, Netanyahu’s spokesperson, and other media team members. Footlik works for Qatar through his company, ThirdCircle Inc., which has been registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) since 2019. The company arranges trips to Qatar for American elected officials and receives a monthly payment of $40,000 from the Qatari Embassy.”

He was born in 1965 in Skokie, Illinois, and has held senior roles in American political systems. Previously, he served as a Special Assistant to President Bill Clinton in the White House, where he helped advance domestic and international issues, including acting as a liaison to the American Jewish community. He traveled with Clinton on official visits to Poland, Norway, Israel, Gaza, Jordan, and various locations in the United States.
