Maybe we’ve all become promptimiscous, as we use AI every day, I know I am, and we all know white supremacist racist Musk has 14 known children, born between 2002 and 2025, with four different women.

Noun, f.; modern occupational group; linguistic derivation of “prompt” and the much older occupational term “prostitute” (see also: occupations people would rather not admit to)
Prompstitute refers to an individual who, in exchange for payment, recognition, or sheer existential emptiness, delivers linguistic commands, so-called prompts, to artificial intelligence. The profession represents one of the first cases in history of people working for an employer without a face, emotions, or a vacation schedule, yet who is nevertheless very demanding to satisfy.
Origins
The phenomenon emerged around the mid-2020s, when the rapid rise of AI systems created an urgent need for human creativity in small doses. The first improvisers did this informally, often in cafes without power outlets, before the profession gained some social legitimacy – albeit of limited duration.
Typical work tasks
Promptists deliver, among other things:
– Instructions that start with “write a text about…”, often ending with “a bit funny”.
-Slight adjustments to the machine’s work, for example, “make this better” without further explanation
-Strategic messages used in digital channels where everyone tries to appear less desperate than they are.
-Creative expressions that are later credited to AI are considered part of the occupational risk.
The work is flexible in terms of time and place, and can be performed from any location with wifi and an appropriate amount of existential anxiety.
Social status and identity issues
It should be noted that very few people want to come forward publicly as prompstituteing. This is mainly due to a linguistic and cultural comparison with being a prostitute, a parallel that is both misunderstood and at the same time a little difficult to explain away. Consequently, many use alternative titles, such as AI creator, digital conceptual content provider, influencer, or the more direct freelancer.
The prestige of the professional group is still under investigation.
Salary and compensation
Salary varies from symbolic sums to more symbolic likes. Some receive assignments with payment in “opportunities”, while others receive confirmation in the form of notifications that the system itself has generated. All of this is considered normal in the field.
Related concepts
• Text donor: person who provides words for free and in a good mood.
• Content distributor: pimp who denies being one.
• AI-dependent: individual who works more hours for the machine than for their own family.
Summary
A prompter is a modern professional who delivers short, precise snippets of creativity to a machine that doesn’t understand humor, but is very interested in pretending. The profession represents a new phase in working life, where human imagination is combined with algorithmic self-confidence – and the result is surprisingly similar to what we already had, only with more satire.
