All eyes on Cuba: US deliberately starving out 11 million people while Mexico sets an example for the world.

BREAKING NEWS: A massive fire has erupted at Cuba’s largest oil refinery in Havana.
This is happening at the same time the U.S. is economically terrorizing Cuba by blocking all oil from entering the country.
This has CIA sabotage written all over it.pic.twitter.com/SsiiE1Qfsj

The US siege of Cuba has strangled the island, slashed its electricity output by 50%, and switched the lights off for millions of children and families, homes and hospitals.
That is why we are setting sail, and inviting you to join us 🇨🇺.

“What’s one word to describe the blockade?”
We asked people in Cuba this simple question and the answers say everything: cruel, criminal, inhumane, genocidal.
For more than 60 years, U.S. policy has tried to suffocate an entire country economically, restricting fuel, food,… pic.twitter.com/hTrgf8KMab

The US empire will never forgive Cuba for having a revolution that overthrew a right-wing, Mafia-backed, US puppet dictator — and then outperforming its neighbours in public health while attaining the same life expectancy as the US (78), despite the illegal, murderous blockade. pic.twitter.com/r19O7ekhAT

This is how far the U.S. has gone to make Cubans suffer. It spent billions to ensure that global connectivity didn’t reach the island. If not for Cuba’s neighbors and Venezuela, the Internet wouldn’t exist in Cuba. No one has suppressed the Cuban people more than the U.S. – Arturo Dominguez

In 1996, a Cuban pilot observed a US government fumigation plane spraying an unknown substance over Matanzas Province. Shortly thereafter, an invasive pesticide-resistant insect never before seen in Cuba, the Thrips palmi, was discovered devouring potato crops in Matanzas. pic.twitter.com/SMH5nVsGdg

The U.S. blockade on Cuba is also punishing Caribbean nations for their historic ties to Cuba. And that pressure could have an enormous impact on sectors like health across the Caribbean. pic.twitter.com/vgzzQJJRfh

Claudia Sheinbaum and Mexico have sent more than 800 tons in aid to Cuba in defiance of Trump’s sadistic orders. The aid includes milk, rice, beans, sardines, meat products, cookies, canned tuna, vegetable oil, and hygiene items. Vietnam has transferred 250 tons of rice to support Cuba while affirming to help Cuba gradually achieve food self-sufficiency.
To understand how monstrous the US blockade on Cuba is, think about the endgame.
What are they trying to achieve?
The goal is clearly to starve people to the point where they are too weak to resist an invasion, or so desperate they are willing to accept US control. To get to this point, the US would have to plan on *very severe* starvation of the country.
Remember, the Cubans fought a revolution against a US-backed dictatorship, and they have struggled to survive under a US blockade for half a century. They will not surrender their sovereignty easily, they will fight to the bitter end, and the US understands this.
The US is gearing up for genocidal crimes. They backed the genocide in Gaza precisely to set a precedent that would allow them to do this themselves. It is pure, wanton barbarism. Every decent person with any shred of human values must resist this campaign with all their might. – Jason Hickel
